Glass-Sheathed Headquarters

The New Siemens Headquarters Have a Glass Facade & Photovoltaic Array

The latest and greatest version of the Siemens headquarters is the result of a concerted and targeted effort to make the German mobile phone manufacturer a world-leader in the realm of eco-friendly industrial practices.

Located in the city of Munich, the new Siemens headquarters are wrapped in a considerable glass facade measuring in at 16,000 square meters. As much as a third of the building's power needs are taken care of by virtue of a photovoltaic array situated on the roof. Measuring 1,300 square meters and consisting of over 800 panels, this array is capable of generating 300 Kilowatts of power. The building also features energy-efficient LED lighting and targeted heating control.

The Siemens headquarters are truly a case in point that large corporate developments can be highly eco-friendly if they embrace modern designs.
