Rugged Terrain Houses

Shogo Aratani Architect & Associates Designs a Contemporary Home in Japan

The Shogo Aratani Architect & Associates have designed a stunning house that integrates beautifully into the rugged terrain it is set in. Located in Hyogo, Japan, it sits on top of a rock bed in order to avoid unnecessary excavation. Yet by doing so, Shogo Aratani Architect managed to create a stunning layered aesthetic that is in line with many contemporary sensibilities to date.

Made up of three volumes, Shogo Aratani Architect focused on a boxy silhouette that brings a lot of spaciousness inside the house.
