Sho Shibuya Honors 55 Years of Saint Laurent with a New Series

Sho Shibuya is the artist commissioned by Saint Laurent's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, to create a series of art to celebrate the French fashion house's 55th anniversary. After gaining popularity during the 2020 lockdown, Shibuya became an artistic icon for sunrise paintings.

The new series is called 55 Sunrises. It celebrates the fashion house with ephemeral paintings inspired by a sunset's ranging colors. The exhibition marks the first time Shibuya's works have been showcased all together in a public setting. Each painting is lined up the same height and mounted in identical white frames. The abstract work is ordered chronologically between august 14th, 2020, and august 21st, 2021. In addition, the collection will be displayed in portions at various Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores.
