Obama Street Art Museum Surveys

Shepard Fairey's ‘Supply and Demand' at the ICA

Street artist Shepard Fairey is perhaps best known for his Obama ‘Hope’ poster and his ‘Obey’ public art; in 2009, however, Fairey’s work will be introduced to a whole new set of fans when his first art survey ‘Supply and Demand’ opens in February at the ICA in Boston.

The artwork displayed at the Institute of Contemporary Art will span Shepard Fairey’s 20-year career, including his posters of Barack Obama, and will also include a brand new mural especially created for the event. Fairey’s work will don Boston in preparation for the museum survey, and Luxist reports that Shepard Fairey will even DJ the opening night.

The video above is a special on Obama paraphernalia done by National Public Radio in which Shepard Fairey is interviewed. Below, Shepard Fairey discusses the viral nature of his Obama work on CBS.
