Speedskater Shani Davis Calls Stephen Colbert a Jerk for Bashing Canada

Looks like U.S. speedskater Shani Davis may need an explanation of the phenomenon known as ‘sarcasm.’ Stephen Colbert, who has been sponsoring the U.S. Olympic Speedskating team for the Winter Olympics, has been using the opportunity for some good-humored Canadian bashing.

As most Colbert viewers know (or at least we hope they know), very little of what Stephen Colbert says can be taken seriously. Shani Davis apparently didn’t get the memo. When asked about Colbert’s Canadian bashing, Shani Davis said of Colbert, "He’s a jerk. You can put that in the paper."
