What sets the home apart is its staunch refusal to adhere to the style and geometry of the surrounding residential structures. Instead of engaging with the street, as the other residences do, the home forges an intimate relationship with the garden. Moreover, the exterior is conceived as a series of cast-concrete blocks, perched on top one another to achieve a rather commanding, statuesque presence.
Inside, the architects concerned themselves with creating a flexible spatial arrangement that encourages interior mobility and the entrance of light. These two goals are facilitated with a triple-height entrance hall that acts as the home's heart center, allowing the inhabitants the opportunity to peek into other levels.
