Sergey Bobkov's Creations are Incredibly Life-Like

Incredibly life-like despite the materials they are made out of, sculpture Sergey Bobkov creates animal sculptures using wood chips. Perhaps it is because of the specific material Sergey Bobkov opts to use that he is able to achieve such realism. Instead of carving the wood as typical sculptures are inclined to do, he impressively uses thin Siberian cedar slices to create the illusion of fur and feathers.

Hailing from Russia, Sergey Bobkov's sculptures are life-sized and often take months to create, whittling away 10 to 14 hours a day. Making everything from owls to squirrels, Sergey Bobkov is extremely talented. 15 of his most recent creations will be displayed at an exhibition in a local Siberian school in Kozhany, southwest of Krasnoyarsk.
