A group of researchers working out of the University of Missouri have developed an exceptionally high-tech sensor system that is designed to keep tabs on elderly people's movements and watch out for signs of am imminent fall so that family members and caregivers can come to their aid.

What's great about this particular sensor system is the fact that it doesn't involve any wearable technology. Rather, it comprises an array of sensors located around the home in order to visually monitor occupants' stride, speed and gait in order to be able to latch onto any changes that might be indicative of a fall.
