Aptiv Created Cost-Effective Semi-Autonomous Technology

Aptiv recently created a new semi-autonomous technology system, named ADAS, which can make autonomous technology between Levels 1-3 more cost-effective for automotive manufactures to produce at scale.

Aptiv stated that its new ADAS semi-autonomous technology system is scheduled to be on the market by 2024, however that date is dependent on when manufacturers decide to implement the system into vehicles. The company has not stated how much the system will cost, however, Glen De Vos, the CTO of Aptiv, indicated the system could reduce costs between 20 and 30 percent.

The ADAS system will feature a "4D" imaging radar, which can double a vehicle's range of detection. Other features include cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and more.
