Samsung's SeeColors App Adjusts TV to Accommodate Those with Color Blindness

To the average person, color is elemental, but the Samsung SeeColor app is designed to help those for whom color is guaranteed. The app recalibrates Samsung televisions to help those with Color Vision Deficiency (CVD), more commonly known as color blindness.

According to a representative survey conducted in Europe and North America, up to eight percent of men and one percent of women have CVD, which amounts to nearly 300 million people globally. However, many of these people aren't aware that they have CVD at all, let alone the type and degree. The SeeColors app, which was developed in partnership with an optics and engineering professor, performs a color test to diagnose viewers on the spot. It then automatically adjusts color settings on Samsung QLED TVs to account for that diagnosis.
