Breakwater Hospitality Group Will Develop Sea Salt Beach House

Breakwater Hospitality Group — a Miami-based multi-concept hospitality organization known for its experiential waterfront destinations — has been selected as the top-ranked proposal to design, build, and operate a new dining venue called Sea Salt Beach House. This project will be a centrepiece of the $35 million redevelopment of Currie Park in West Palm Beach along the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Sea Salt Beach House will accommodate approximately 378 seats. The establishment is envisioned as a modern coastal destination featuring indoor dining, covered terraces, and open-air seating. The concept will be complemented by a 320-seat rooftop event space suitable for weddings, community celebrations, and civic functions. For this project, Breakwater Hospitality Group will also collaborate with "award-winning Bigtime Design Studios, best known for creating high-concept, high-style public space environments."

Beyond the restaurant itself, the concept incorporates expanded public park activations, including a family play area, a grab-and-go kiosk, and year-round programming such as fitness classes, pop-up markets, live entertainment, and seasonal community events.

Trend Themes

  1. Waterfront Destination Dining — Experiential restaurants positioned within scenic public spaces create new revenue models that blend leisure, tourism, dining, and civic placemaking.
  2. Park-integrated Hospitality — Public parks anchored by private food and beverage concepts reflect a shift toward mixed-use community hubs with year-round commercial and social activity.
  3. Rooftop Event Venues — Elevated event spaces connected to dining destinations offer flexible formats for weddings, civic gatherings, and branded experiences in high-traffic urban locations.

Industry Implications

  1. Hospitality — Multi-concept operators are reshaping traditional restaurant development by combining food service, entertainment, events, and public-space programming.
  2. Real Estate Development — Waterfront redevelopment projects increasingly use hospitality anchors to increase foot traffic, enhance public amenities, and strengthen district-level property value.
  3. Event Services — Community celebrations, private functions, and seasonal activations tied to permanent venues open scalable opportunities for hybrid hospitality and event operations.
