PETA will have a field day with the Digital Scarecrow designed by KyungRyul Lim and Miyeon Kim. It features an ultrasonic wave deterrent to ward off animals and possesses a 16,529 square meter range. The Digital Scarecrow is powered by solar panels so as to be energy independent.

According to the designers, the Digital Scarecrow's ultrasonic waves won't harm the animal--it'll just give them a sense of urgency--and the gadget does no harm to the environment.
