India-based Architecture Discipline Debuts a Choker

The India-based architecture practice Architecture Discipline recently designed a social distancing necklace called sChoker that notifies wearers when other people get too close. The necklace is made using carbon fiber and has integrated thermal sensors that identify "the infrared radiations emanating from the temperature of those passing by." Using either a visual or audio signal, it will notify the wearer if they are a safe or dangerous distance from other people.

"It is a symbol of unity,’ commented Akshat Bhatt, the principal architect at Architecture Discipline. "The need was to make it easily available and simple, for it to uphold privacy and anonymity and allow people to be socially 'normal' and not 'distant'."
