Pedal-Powered Unisex Bikes

Sanyo Markets Rechargable Eneloop Bicycle

The future of bicycle technology is now according to Fortune 500 company Sanyo. Their newest design in eco-friendly transportation, the Sanyo Eneloop Bike, is about to hit the streets in North America.

Powered by Sanyo's Eneloop rechargeable batteries, the bike is recharged via pedal-power. Billed as a safe and comfortable ride, the funky-retro looking pedal-powered unisex eco-bike has a price tag of around $2,300 (yikes). Oh ya, catch the video taken at CES 2010.

Implications - This two-wheeled drive vehicle is perfect for riders who became overwhelmed and tired while peddling. If and when you do spin the gears, however, it re-charges for a longer ride -- an impressive 46 miles, which Sanyo is advertising as "loop charging." I don't know about you, but I think this looks amazing, goofy, and very 2011. I'm sold.
