Sage Sohier's About Face Images Were Taken While at a Nerve Clinic

Sage Sohier's About Face images provide a visual look at patients suffering from facial paralysis. Sohier studied the condition in an artistic manner while at a facial nerve clinic in Boston, Massachusetts.

A range of ages, backgrounds and states of health were captured in About Face. And while the patients were all different from one another, they gathered to smile for Sohier in the best ways they possibly could, according her project with an inspirational message.

While many of her subjects suffer from the inability to fully smile, they nonetheless participated, speaking to their will to overcome the disability. Her project is therefore encouraging, not only for the patients, but also for their families and friends.
