Quintessentially Russian Vodkas

Urzhum Distillery's Russian Vodka Bottle Features a Dymkovo Doll

The Alexandrov Design House was put to the task of developing a very Russian vodka bottle for the Urzhum distillery, and chose to focus its efforts on pulling inspiration from the Vyatka province.

A known symbol for the province are Dymkovo toys and this design brings out the vibrancy of the province with vivid colors, shapes and lace-like patterning. Although it seems like a vodka bottle with an image of a doll on it could easily be overly feminine, the color scheme and all of the detailing puts much more of a focus on being Russian than it does being girly. Even though vodka has strong ties to Russia, this bottle design strengthens and celebrates the connection.
