The U.S. Postal Service Roy Lichtenstein Forever Stamps have been debuted as a range of permanent stamps arriving on the centennial of the artist's birth. The collection of stamps includes five styles that were designed by art director for the USPS Derry Noyes with five of Lichtenstein's works including Modern Painting I, Standing Explosion Red, Still Life With Goldfish, Still Life With Crystal Bowl and Portrait of a Woman. The stamps will come in panes of 20 stamps that are perfect for enhancing the aesthetic of any piece of mail.
General Counsel and Executive Vice President of the Postal Service Thomas Marshall spoke on the U.S. Postal Service Roy Lichtenstein stamps saying, "The Postal Service uses its stamp program to raise awareness and celebrate the people who represent the very best of our nation. Roy Lichtenstein certainly deserves this recognition because of the remarkable creativity and innovation he demonstrated throughout his career."
