The Rolls-Royce Phantom II Celebrates the Last Decade

The Rolls-Royce Phantom II was recently unveiled as the first car from the 'Home of Rolls-Royce Collection.' This collection is a celebration of "10 years of production at its Goodwood, England home."

The Phantom II saloon is a gorgeous vehicle that features intricate detailing in order to properly honor its past. Several wooden surfaces on the car's interior use a technique called marquetry, which involves interlaying intricate patterns and designs into pieces of wood. These pieces consist of over 170 segments and 11 different types of wood. An example of this beautiful work can be seen on the car's glove compartment.

There are other extremely labor-intensive details on the car, like the 100,000 stitches that make up the compass pattern on the armrests and console lid. Cars from the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection will be available later this fall.
