The Rochas Spring 2012 Collection is Straight Out of 'Mad Men'

Just when I thought that Paris-based designers were breaking free from the clutches of the retro, ladylike styles that were presented in New York, London and Milan, designer Marco Zanini came out with the Rochas Spring 2012 collection.

Putting my personal preferences aside, the collection is really lovely and great for the conservative woman. Taupe-colored pencil skirts and matching blazers made an unexpected appearance (I mean, when was the last time you saw a basic skirt suit on the runways of Paris?) and set the tone for the show.

The Rochas Spring 2012 collection was predominantly made up of pastel-hued, '50s-inspired dresses, which the models accessorized with beehive hairstyles and horn-rimmed sunglasses. Sure, the collection did not have much sex appeal and "wow" moments, but who says that every collection has to? Apparently, modesty and conservative dressing are back in full force.
