Retro Futuristic Furniture

Sancal Depicts the Past and the Future in Its Latest Furniture Designs

Spanish design brand Sancal has created a line of "retro-futuristic" furniture that aims to embody both the past and the future.

The exhibit, entitled the 'Futura' collection, has a muted aesthetic -- primarily using white, cream, brown, mustard yellow and silver colors. Each piece is unique and an excellent personification of the kinds of designs that were shown in the 1960s when imagining what the future would look like. The entire exhibit as a whole looks somewhat eerie as it appears as more of an abandoned spaceship than a furniture collection meant for 2016.

The exhibition features couches and chairs with rounded features and there are large circular cutouts in the walls. With small ornate sculptures and even a disco ball, the retro-futuristic furniture would be excellent for those interested in luxurious, science fiction-inspired designs.
