'Blur' is a Responsive Furniture Piece with an Ever-Changing Ink Component

Tokyo-based studio 'we+' created a dynamic, responsive furniture piece that takes the form of a low table called 'Blur.'

Blur gets its name from its unique tabletop, which integrates a thermo-sensitive ink that changes in accordance to machine-controlled temperatures. As such, the table boasts an ever-changing appearance that its designers liken to "water soaking into soil." Although Blur in its entirety is a static furniture piece that does not change in terms of its cylindrical form, it boasts ephemeral qualities that make it captivating to look at from moment to moment.

The innovative Blur table from we+ was displayed at the Gallery Rossana Orlandi during this year's Milan Design Week. The design speaks to a new wave of furniture and decor pieces that seem to be like moving, breathing, living pieces of the home.
