These Artists Used a Reflective Blanket to Prevent a Glacier from Melting

Swedish artists Lars Bergström and Mats Bigert recently installed a reflective blanket on the top of a glacier to prevent it from melting. Although most people are aware of the effects of climate change, few have taken immediate action to try and combat the problem. These artists found a unique way to fight back with a heartwarming symbolic gesture.

After hearing numerous reports about the melting of Sweden's glaciers, Bergström and Bigert decided to take action. To help, they scaled a small glacier and installed a reflective blanket at the top. The purpose of the blanket was to keep the snow cooler and prevent the peak from melting. Although Bergström and Bigert's effort is a small-term fix, the project demonstrates the need for consumers to become more active in the fight against climate change.
