Dutch Designer Willem Heeffer Turned 334 Old Tins into Diner Decor

Using simple items like a recycled can, you can create some incredibly appealing decor. Dutch designer Willem Heeffer has used the recycled can concept at a diner to create many attractive and eco-conscious designs. Using 334 old tins, Heeffer has created cutlery holders, bar lights, storage displays and chandeliers.

This one-of-a-kind decor has been designed for Hans Välimäki’s new Midhill American Diner in Helsinki, Finland. The recycled cans were collected by Heeffer at various restaurant locations around the city. He has taken these items that would have gone into the trash and made a creative eco-solution for the diner.

The chandeliers, for example, have each been made from twenty one Heinz Beans cans. This type of design needs to be adopted by other establishments to ensure that we are all making the best of our resources.
