Record-Breaking Timber Towers

This Residential Building Will Be the World's Tallest Timber Tower

Danish architecture firm Schmidt Hammer Lassen is designing a residential timber tower that will be the tallest in the world at a height of 100 meters.

Dubbed 'Rocket&Tigerli,' this building is being designed in partnership with Cometti Truffer Hodel. Situated in the city of Winterthur in Switzerland, this tower will make use of a timber frame and core, while its exterior will be sheathed in terracotta. This means that it will well and truly be the tallest genuine timber building in the world, as other planned projects that are poised to soar to greater heights will actually use concrete cores.

In addition to the core residential aspect, this timber tower project will also include smaller structures containing spaces such as a hotel, restaurant and low-rise housing.
