The Rain Drum Umbrella by Dong Min Park

I’ve always enjoyed the sound of raindrops that I never considered making music with it—yet the Rain Drum umbrella does just that. Taking the pitter patter of rainy days to another level, it is features different panels that act as various parts of a drum set.

Made out of wax-cloth at varying elasticities, the Rain Drum umbrella was designed by Dong Min Park. Check out the images above to see the division of each panel. Although still a concept, I can only hope that a manufacturer will decide to put this into production.
