Library Shelf-Integrated Seating

Woods Bagot Gives Kids a Creative Space with the Raheen Library

The Raheen Library, situated in Melbourne Australia, was in much need of an update for the students of the Australian Catholic University. Woods Bagot was contacted for the project, and put together a colorful reinterpretation of the learning space for kids.

One of the most interesting features of the new look are the seats integrated into the shelving areas. Consisting of a bright green material, the spaces are literally holes in the wall that either one or several people can sit in. Some of the sections have a table attached too, allowing one to rest a laptop or book here and get some much-needed quiet time.
