The QuenchSea Reel Provides Potable Water in Emergencies

The QuenchSea Reel is a capsule-shaped water purification solution developed with emergency scenarios at sea in mind to help offer easy access to potable water when required. The unit weighs in at nine-pounds and works by being attached to a fishing line before being lowered into the water. The water purifier will harness oceanic pressure once it's between 300 and 500-meters down to force seawater through the filtration membrane to remove salt, bacteria and microplastics.

The QuenchSea Reel is rated to produce 1.5-liters of drinking water every five-minutes and only needs to be reeled back up to be accessed. The water purifier is being launched at an introductory price of $150, and is reported to provide H2O that's 98% salt-free with a total dissolved solids rating less than 1,000.
