Vintage Cocktail Computers

This Device Uses Punch Cards to Select Different Cocktail Recipes

Anyone looking for inspiration on what to mix for their next cocktail drink will be interested in this punch card creation that goes retro in it's approach.

The 'Cocktail Computer' is a computer that uses no actual electricity, but rather takes the approach of old punch card systems used in early computer designs. The plastic retro computer contains 24 different essential ingredient slots that let users select what ingredients they have readily available. Designer Lily Szajnberg chose 24 basic ingredients because this combination yields a wide variety of classic and innovative cocktail creations.

Three metal push pins -- which also double as garnish skewers -- are inserted inside the machine's ingredient labeled holes to filter through the 100 included recipe cards. Just lift the computer's lid and you'll be presented with your very own curated cocktail recipe.
