Real-Life Thinking Caps

Professor Allan Snyder and Team Tap Into New Modes of Thinking

Putting on one's thinking cap has always been one of those slight-of-hand brainstorm sayings, but that may all change thanks to Professor Allan Snyde. He and his team at Sydney University's Centre of the Mind have developed an real-life thinking cap that improves cognitive abilities significantly.

Although the design is still in the testing stages, Professor Allan Snyde has been able to tap into new modes of thinking by exposing his guinea pigs to 10 to 15 minutes of low-level electric pulses. Without the cap, people solve complex problems 20 percent of the time; with it, they solve it 60 percent of the time.
