Chronic Illness Coping Apps

The PRISM App Helps Young People with Chronic and Terminal Illness

Coping with a chronic or terminal illness can be especially difficult for children and young adults, which is why Dr. Abby Rosenberg helped develop Prism -- an app that teaches young people to cope with illness or a troubling diagnosis.

The app features six categories that are uniquely targeted at some of the main concerns a patient feels, they include: goal setting, dealing with anxiety, breathing exercises, stopping negative thoughts and tips on finding and expressing gratitude. Each section features different modules that can teach the user important coping mechanisms that they can practice both online and offline.

Designed for the tech-savvy teen in mind, this app has been effective in helping patients feel at peace with themselves and their condition.
