Road-Ready Printed Cars

Local Motors' 3D-Printed Car is Set to Hit the Production Line & the Road

After finding that it could manufacture its 3D-printed Strati model in only 44 hours, Local Motors continues to push printed cars to be the best they can be. Although the printing of the Strati car only just made headlines last September, the Phoenox-based company describes that it is "Hellbent on revolutionizing manufacturing."

Now that there are dozens of 3D-printed car prototypes, many consumers are left wondering when they will be able to get their hands on one. Now that Local Motors' Project Redacted challenge has come to a close, the company is ready for Kevin Lo's road-ready Swim and Sport design to hit the production line. Since 3D printing allows for so much flexibility in design, the car is available in two body types.

It's expected that the LOCO (Local Motors Co-Created) vehicle will cost somewhere between $18,000 and $30,000.
