Architect-Reinterpreted Handbags

Three Female Architects Creatively Redesigned the Prada Handbag

Although bags are designed to be useful for carrying around a limited number of personal items, many designer handbags are first and foremost concerned with aesthetics—and Prada invited three female architects to creatively reinterpret the Prada handbag.

During Milan Fashion Week, Prada shared the designs by Kazuyo Sejima, Elizabeth Diller and Cini Boeri, which were created using Prada’s nylon fabric. As part of the collaboration, one bag was designed to double as a neck pillow, while another includes a special pocket for storing sandwiches.

Prada Invites was presented alongside the Spring/Summer 2019 Prada Womenswear fashion show and kicks off a series of collaborative projects to come in the future that examine various aspects of design through the world of Prada.
