Microsoft Has Released a Preview of Powertoys for Windows 10

Microsoft has recently unveiled some of the details of PowerToys for Windows 10 in a preview release. PowerToys was originally created to aid with basic tasks on Windows, including CD autoplay and altering registry settings. During the original release of PowerToys a Windows Key shortcut guide was included, which allowed users to fill a predetermined zone.

However, PowerToys for Windows 10 will include a host of new functions. Notably, the new version of PowerToys will include the ability to record a screen, as well as a desktop widget. Animated GIFS can also be outputted from screen recordings using the new PowerToys interface.

The new release of PowerToys follows the company's recent history of open source initiatives. Notably, the company released the source code on GitHub.
