Juul Will Introduce New POS Standards for Its Retailers

Juul has introduced POS standards in an effort to reduce minors from purchasing the device. The company will require all Juul retailers to comply with the new POS standards by May 2021. Currently, over 50 retailers have agreed to comply with the new standards. After the compliance date is up, Juul will only sell its products to retails who comply with the new standards.

The new standards involve implementation of the Retail Access Control Standards program or RACS. The program increases age restrictions, by locking the product until a valid ID is scanned. The system also examines bulk purchases and locks after five pods have been scanned. After an ID is scanned on the system, all of the personal information is then deleted.

The new standard will allow Juul more control over the way its products are sold.
