Stretched Modular Fruits

Gonzalo Ausejo Constructs Replica Produce Using Polygon Mesh

Gonzalo Ausejo is a graphic designer working out of Qatar that creates fruit replicas with altered shape and geometric forms using polygon mesh. The fruit appears stretched and sticky along with a pixelated gemstone exterior that render the produce with a new texture that reflects the taste of the different elements of the flesh.

While fruits are often recognized for the bright colors and the consistency of the skin, Ausejo completely subverts the viewers expectation by transforming the texture. The polygon fruits are developed using graphic software with the exterior altered to have a modular stone aesthetic and the fleshy centres to be sticky and stretched. The works highlight beloved fruits such as pineapples, watermelons and cherries giving the produce a futuristic design that subverts texture familiarity. Photo Credits: designboom, behance.net
