The Pangea Hotel in Whistler Will Take Cues from Japanese Capsule Hotels

Inspired by the popularity of budget-friendly, short-term capsule accommodations across Asia that provide just the essentials for a restful night of sleep, a new pod hotel will be opening in Whistler, British Columbia.

The Pangea Pod Hotel will provide guests access to simple private sleeping spaces and shared bathrooms, making it possible for visitors to spend more time enjoying the many activities at Whistler, rather than paying for costly accommodations. Although each of the 88 individual sleeper pods will be small, they will reportedly be outfitted with high-end linens, memory foam mattresses, LED lights, white noise and storage areas.

While pricing has not been finalized, Pangea has communicated that the cost of staying at its pod hotel will be a somewhere between hostel and basic hotel room.
