Perfectly Pinched Pendant Lamps

Pleat Box Lights Are Made From Computer and Handcrafted Techniques

There's nothing wrong with combining divergent creative techniques to produce a compelling piece of design. When the task is taken on with attention to detail and tasteful aesthetics, something like the Pleat Box project is born.

This collection of lovely suspended light fixtures incorporates at least four different models that share a distinctive feature in common. Each of the smoothly sculpted ceramic pieces seems to cave in towards the top as if the exquisite hollowed out dishes sunk under their own weight while drying.

But of course, this effect was intentional. Ceramicist Xavier Manosa worked with the Mashallah Studio for Marset to digitally mimic the way that cloth hangs and apply the precise form to pottery. Pleat Box hanging lamps thus embody a crisp and iconic quality fit to delight any room.
