The PlayStation Phone Will Be Powered by Android

Sony Ericsson is reportedly "actively and heavily developing" a new platform that will be a PlayStation phone most similar to the PSP portable PlayStation. This is the latest attempt at making the PSP a device that can rival the Nintendo DS, but this design adds something the DS doesn't offer -- telephonic capabilities.

The PlayStation phone will run on Google's Android platform, specifically the 3.0 model, called Gingerbread. If a PlayStation phone does make it to market in October 2010 as rumored, it will bring about an entirely new mobile gaming platform with an incredible social twist.
