Jessica Stockholder Turns Madison Square Park Into a Child's Fantasy

Jessica Stockholder sure knows how to get kids excited about artwork. Her new playful art installations at Madison Square Park uses playground designs with an artsy feel. The great part about this piece of work is that kids can interact with the various installations without parents worrying about their child breaking these Stockholder designs.

Stockholder uses bright colors and wacky shapes in her installations. One section is even dedicated to bright red bubbles that looks like a psychedelic room from the sixties. The installation was commissioned by Madison Square Park Conservancy and is a hit amongst both parents and youngsters. Jessica Stockholder says that she is surprised by how much the children are drawn to the work and never thought people would be willing to sit on the various pieces.
