Plants in interior spaces offer far more than just cleaner air—they can boost focus and productivity, dampen ambient noise, and add natural beauty to a room—and for the Dutch National Final Exams, Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland launched an initiative to support students.
As shared by Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland, "Research shows that even a brief moment of looking at plants already has an effect. Within 40 seconds, stress levels can decrease, heart rate stabilizes, and attention recovers." Four schools participated in the initiative, each outfitting their gymnasium exam room spaces with fully visible plant walls for the benefit of test-takers. After exams, the plants remained available for schools to keep in common areas or for students to take home.
