Patrick Dougherty Creates a Less Extravagant Place for the Queen

When it comes to selecting a place for the queen, one usually does not think of sticks, but artist Patrick Dougherty decided to go against the grain with his latest creation.

The design is titled 'Fit for a Queen,' and is located at the Dukes of Brittany castle in Nantes of France. This juxtaposition between the actual castle in the background and a stick version is interesting, as it highlights the extravagance of one and the humbleness of the other. Granted, Dougherty does not expect anyone (not even the queen) to sleep here, as it is merely meant as an installation to make viewers think about art.

Visitors to this area will be lucky to see both this instalment, as well as a historic castle (not made from sticks). Photo Credits: designboom, stickwork.net
