Marshmallow Pizzas

Pizza Hut Japan is Teaming Up with a Candy Company to Create a Peculiar Pizza

Pizza Hut Japan and Morinaga are collaborating to create a candy pizza. The peculiar pizza steers clear of the usual pizza toppings like pepperoni and sausage, and boasts mini marshmallows and almond slivers instead. The candy toppings are also paired with a milk caramel sauce in place of tomato sauce -- because I don't think anyone would find a tomato and marshmallow pairing appealing.

Though the pizza's flavoring heavily relies on sweets, it also manages to adhere to the traditional savory aspects of the warm confectionery; its base is still a crusted dough and it is brushed with cheddar cheese. While that may sound a bit strange, it actually adheres to the concept of sweet and savory.

The new pizza is available at Pizza Hut Japan until the end of the month.
