Christo et Jeanne-Claude Creates a Colorful Installation in Miami

As though straight out of a Dr. Seuss book, these pink islands are a real art installation and not the product of Photoshop or other manipulation programs. Although at first it looks like sand was perhaps turned pink, the pink islands are actually surrounded by a belt of fuchsia plastic. Eleven in total were impressively lined with this material.

Created by artistic duo Christo et Jeanne-Claude, the pink islands can be found along the Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida. They will be existing in this sublime state for a total of two weeks. Essentially ushering in a new season a fun and festive way, the pink islands are imaginative and creative as well as an incredible stunt in general. Too bad they can't stay forever.
