Wearable Art

Photo Print Fashion

Photo print materials were really in style about five years ago in Germany, and now it looks like the wearable photography has made its way onto the North American fashion scene. It's not uncommon to see paintings or artistic prints on clothing, but to see photography, especially antique photography, printed on fabric is a rare but welcome change.

Shopbop.com has a beautiful silk scarf with old black and white photos printed on it, a perfect accessory for any outfit. The Nili Lotan Photo Print Scarf is 5" by 6' long and selling for $150.

Suva Wear also offers a range of photo print fashions as well as home decor items like pillows printed with photos of goldfish. eShoe.co.uk has cute photo print boots, one pair of which is seen in the gallery.

I was never able to part with my two photo print bags and pair of kitten heels with prints of old Hollywood glamour shots. Those types of items just don't go out of style in my mind; keep your eyes peeled for this to start appearing on everything from fashion to accessories to shoes!
