Pop Art Pet Portraits

Immortalize Your Pooch With an Original Masterpiece

Colorado artist Pat Saunders White is passionate about painting. She’s also passionate about pets. She sees each one not as just another subject, but as a personality to be interpreted in paint. The result always induces smiles and laughs.

The procedure for commissioning a portrait of your pet is on Pat’s website. You’ll need to supply a photo, so take a look at the video above for tips on taking a good pet photo. Once you’ve made arrangements, submitted your photo and paid a deposit, Pat will make the portrait. Acrylic, pastel and watercolor are her usual tools, but she’s up for requests.

Pat’s work is vibrant and energetic. Her bold colors don’t mimic life, they amplify it. Pat has created portraits of a variety of critters: cats and dogs, of course; also pigs; cows; llamas; and even fish.  She shows her work at the Loveland Museum and Gallery, sells reproductions to galleries and gallery shops around the country, teaches workshops, juries art shows, and participates in national juried art shows.
