Judging by the speed of the riders in the spy photos, these Peruvian scooters appear to be using some sort of fusion powered synergy drive mounted behind the rear branch, or below the main tree trunk.

Having done away with the electric motor and expensive lithium ion batteries, these Peruvian eco scooters would seem to be cost effective, even in a third world economy.
