This Paul and Joe Collection Sources Inspiration from Fairy Tales

In order to set the mood for the unveiling of the Paul and Joe Fall 2014 collection, the presentation space was infused with woodsy scents and dimmed so that ushers had to help people to their seats with LED lanterns. As with any collection that takes inspiration from the woods, you can't help but think of ties to some sort of folklore or fairy tale. With a few coats and capes traipsing down the runway in a bright peachy orange color, it might have been safe to assume the collection took after Little Red Riding Hood. However, in this particular case, the collection was inspired by a tale that's not so well known—The Magic Donkey, or as it is better known, Peau d'Âne by Charles Perrault.

As much as it was steeped in fantasy, the collection included a range of cozy, practical knits that would be perfectly fitting for wear in the forest or city.
