Paul Smith's Patterned Wallets Reflect His Store's Architecture

Legendary designer Paul Smith recently released a collection of patterned wallets and leather goods that mimicked his flagship store's facade.

The new line is called 'Pochette no. 9' because of its uncanny resemblance to the facade of Paul Smith's London store, no. 9 on Armadale street. The store reclaimed an 18th century Georgian town house, and was designed to be wrapped with wrought iron. The storefront was inspired by the area's traditional wrought iron railings and balconies.

This iconic architectural feature became the inspiration for the Pochette no. 9 collection. Using the distinct elliptical motif found in the store's walls, its unique pattern was used on leather goods. The collection ranges from men's wallets to handbags and iPad cases recreates the famous interlocking circles that engulf Smith's flagship boutique.
