SSE Now Uses a Visual Paper Bill System to Map Out Data

In order to increase understanding and decrease confusion and customer complaints, SSE has designed a more dynamic visual system for laying out its paper bills.

The energy bill is separated into three simple systems, which breaks down a reading on consumed electricity, gas and the total payment made towards these utilities. At the bottom of the sheet, there's a section that provides tips on how customers can further reduce the amount that they pay each month. The communicative new paper bill design for SSE was completed by global brand design consultancy Elmwood.

Now that many consumers are favoring paperless and app-based payment systems, this SSE energy bill design adopts the same clarity of a layout that might be found on the web.
