Majestic Plumage Portraits

'Painted Feathers' is a Beautiful Animal Series by Artist Brenda Lyons

In her ongoing series entitled 'Painted Feathers,' American-based artist Brenda Lyons paints jaw-dropping portraits of animals onto feathers.

With molted turkey feathers as her canvas, Brenda paints serene portraits of bald eagles, bobcats, coyotes, dogs, harpy eagles, horses, hawks, and more, using acrylic paints. Though working on such a small space, Brenda manages to somehow fully capture the majestic beauty of these animals, especially the birds. In Painted Feathers, Brenda's love and appreciation for these creatures shines through and invites us to appreciate and contemplate these animals as well. As someone who can barely paint on a regular canvas, I can only imagine how difficult it must be to paint on feathers.

In addition to her feather artwork Brenda also makes beautiful avian-inspired masks, jewelry, and prints, which she sells on her Etsy shop.
